Sketch card commission done for the wonderful Mark! All I can say is that I has got them precious marker refills and can use as much colour as I want, mwehehhee!
I don't think I ever posted these before! These were done for Marvel 70th Anniversary sketch card set. My fave card is of Prof X and Magneto duking it out on the chessboard.
The client requested Guinevere, wife of King Arthur of Camelot. Colouring looks a bit blotchy due to the paper texture. I tried to give it some pencil colour finishing to make it less blotchy.. not sure if it works though, hehe.
..done for Sadlittle's (http://sadlittles.com/index_files/legendslore.htm) Legends & Lore Artist Proof cards. These are rendered in watercolour pencils and marker :3
Sketch cards of Rogue (I like the Chris Bachalo costume), Black Cat and White Queen. How on earth do Emma Frost keep her boobs up?? A mystery to ponder on indeed...
I am hopelessly obsessed with rendition of Wicked Witch of the West from the Broadway play 'Wicked'. Her character is everything I admire and hope to be - strong, fearless, determined, misunderstood (okay maybe not that last part).
The part of Elphaba (the witch) was played by Lisa Brescia (standby for Stephanie J. Block) when I saw it, and she was really amazing. Her voice was beautiful and clear, and she played the part with a subtle sensitivity and humility - I think I cried a little hahahah.
A fave from my childhood cartoon, the extremely intelligent Donatello and his formidale bo that lets you stand safely at one end while you whack an opponent senseless in the Sega MegaDrive fighting game!
Rendered in Copics (Ciao!), pen, white gel pen and a lil' dash of colour pencils.
Costume/ outfit is sooo inaccurate but yeargh.
And I met Kevin Eastman woo! He was in Malaysia, visiting our workplace wooo!
Birthday pic done for a friend. I was so glad to finally try out my new Copic Ciao - and it was fun, up to the point I get dizzy and start seeing sparks of lights in front of my eyes. I blame it on the marker fumes.
Bought these pens today at lunch time and they are awesome! One end's a magic marker, and the other is a finer tip that's really awesome for sketching. Best of all - the blue one is photoblue - won't show up when you photostate or scan your sketch in black and white!
Ended up playing around with the pen (I really love the blue one) almost all afternoon (bought a new sketchbook too)... and went on to splodge the sketches with some cheap markers I got some time ago (and some more from Aimo's hoard of Copics)
Some unreferenced doodles of Aeris and Harle (of Chrono Cross) but I think I got her costume wrong
Doodles of the Folie a Deux girls, a silly story a bunch of friends and I made up way back in uni.
Ye gads markers are evil. I can't stop playing with them even when I get dizzy from inhaling all the aceton.
